Oscar, what are your plans after ‘The Force Awakens’ wraps its promotional tour?

"Apparently when I put on that metal bikini when I was 23 I signed an invisible contract to stay looking that way for the next 30 or 40 years. So if any of you have a problem with how I look now… go fuck yourself!"

Etam Cru’s “Galimatias” at Thinkspace Gallery.

Currently showing at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California is the long awaited solo exhibition from Polish duo Etam Cru entitled “Galimatias.”

The duo - Made up of artists Sainer and Bezt - are incredibly well known for their large scale street art pieces from around the world where they combine their synchronistic styles into cohesive, stunning works of art.  With “Galimatias,” which means gibberish in French, the two have each provided a selection of independent works, from paintings to sketches, that clearly show their mirrored approaches and distinguished, cohesive ideas that permeate throughout their combined efforts.

The title of the show is referring to the work being undefined and wanting the audience to explicitly come to their own conclusions of what these images may mean or in what world they take place.  This idea of opened endedness for their work is crowned by the fact that “Etam” means “whatever” or “I don’t care,” providing a thesis on their work immediately.  Not that they don’t care about their work but it is up to the person or persons viewing it to make their own choices about what is existing before them and this, I believe, allows even more beauty to be conceived because one is able to find freedom within them.

Galimatias” is on view until January 16th, 2016.  Please continue below to see more work from the show:
